  • Extensive practice in Criminal Law in the County and Supreme Court of Victoria, 1983- 2008;
  • Instructor at Victorian Bar Reader’s Course since 1989 (Workshop on Interpreters, Plea making, General and Jury Trial Advocacy, Criminal Accreditation Seminars and Police Prosecutors examination moots)
  • Instructor for Australian Advocacy Institute, 1994–20018, including as Teacher in the LL.B. undergraduate course in Trial Advocacy at Monash University Campus in Prato, Italy; instructor for Victoria Legal Aid in Trial Counsel Accreditation workshops;

Appointed to the County Court of Victoria in 2008;

Chairman of the Professional Development Committee 2011-2016; Member of the Media Committee; Member of the Strategic Planning Committee of Court Services Victoria; Co-Sponsor Judge of Resilience and Reflective Practice Program;

About the Association

The Australasian Institute of Judicial Administration (AIJA) is a research and educational institute associated with Monash University. It is funded by the Law, Crime and Community Safety Council (LCCSC) and also from subscription income from its membership.

The principal objectives of the Institute include research into judicial administration and the development and conduct of educational programmes for judicial officers, court administrators and members of the legal profession in relation to court administration and judicial systems.
